Summer Projects [[Overdue]]

I keep forgetting to upload these photos from random Summer projects I got bored and decided to do. Better late than never, right?

I had some foam packaging laying around my room after bringing home my awesome TV that Mike bought me. I was going to throw them away but then decided to reduce, reuse, and recycle! I threw some batting on one side and then stretched fabric that my mom had over each piece. Stapled, added ribbon, and schzam! My mom now has four of these babies for hanging random things on!

As I was cleaning up my room in prep for moving back to Miami, I decided to go through and gather clothes I never wear to take to Good Will (not going to lie, it really urks me when people just throw older stuff in the garbage because it's easier... someone would probably love to own that stuff, get off your bum and take it to the thirft store) Ok enough with my rant. Anyways, as I was going through the clothes I came across my graduation dress. I'll never wear it again, but it was a really cool fabric. So I cut it up :]

I didn't really have an end result I was going for, I just started cutting, sewing, and attaching buttons. What I came up with was actually pretty cool, a flower hair piece.

And last but not least, literally the night before I left for Miami Mike took my to my favorite place in the whole world... Hobby Lobby. He told me to pick out whatever I wanted. I just started throwing random paper, yarn, foam, etc into the cart. Here's what I made...

I felt like my room would need some decorating so I mod podged some old books with pretty paper and glued them together. They now reside underneath of my lamp. When I saw a styrofoam mannequin head at Hobby Lobby, I knew it'd be perfect for holding my huge Skullcandy headphones. I mod podged that with pretty music paper and there you have it.

It was a very crafty few last weeks of Summer. Nowadays, I hardly have enough time to blog, let alone pick up a pair of scissors or paint. Oh well, I'm having fun with graphic design/advertising at work so maybe I'll have to blog about that sometime.
