Update | 24 Things Before 25

It's been a while since I posted my list of 24 things I'd like to accomplish before turning 25. With another year coming to an end, I thought it'd be beneficial [to me as well] to update on what all I've done and how I plan to finish the rest of the list. You can see my original post here.

1. Volunteer Somewhere
I suppose you could count all the charity items I make for different organizations but that'd just be too easy. I would love to volunteer at an animal shelter.

2. Maintain My Blog
I think it's safe to say I've maintained my blog. With three weekly features and tons of daily readers. I'm quite proud of how my blog has hit it off.

3. Go To Another Rock Concert
Goo Goo Dolls and Rocket Summer. Check

4. Get Another Tattoo
Working on this one. The one I have planned requires a chunk of change so that's the only thing holding me back.

5. Learn To Sew
I know how to sew, I guess to clarify I'd like to be able to consider myself a seamstress. But now that I have my Vintage Singer, this goal should move along quickly.

6. Get Off The Continent
I really have no plans for this one. I would love to backpack Europe but those darn plane tickets are so expensive I'm not too confident about this one. I'll still try like crazy!

7. Paint A VERY LARGE Canvas
I'm not sure why I haven't accomplished this one. It's so easy. I think that might be part of the problem. It's an easy task that I'm over thinking. What do I paint?

8. Throw My Own House Party
Now that I'm living on my own, I've thrown many house parties. Check. You can see the Christmas costume I made for one here.

9. Take Ballroom Dance Classes
I have a feeling this will happen for wedding prep which leads me to...

10. Have a Cute/Simple Wedding
Simple=Inexpensive Why spend tons of money on one day of your life when you can spend it on cool accessories for your house that you will be spending the rest of your life in [or at least a long time]

11. Random Roadtrip to Another State
Spontaneous trip to Indianapolis? Yes. Read about it here.

12. Fill One Art Journal
Ok, so I'm no goo at keeping a journal. But this could translate to me filling my Moleskine with thoughts, lists, blog notes, etc. In which case, I'm working on it.

13.  Take a Photography Class
I'm hoping to take a few classes at the Community College this summer. Classes at Miami fill up super fast.

14. Visit California
I haven't blogged about it yet, but Mike and I plan to take a Route 66 road trip which will end us in Cali. Score!

15. Learn to Knit/Crochet
Sadly, it gives me nasty headaches. Marking that one off of my "Things to do while bored" list.

16. Buy a NICE Camera
I'm in love with my Nikon. I took way too many pictures before, now it's just obscene :] Read about my baby here.

17. Re-Learn Piano
I need to buy a keyboard so this can actually become a reality but once again, I'm working on it.

18. Get a Nice Bike
I'm ashamed to say, I'm still riding my Walmart piece-o-crap bike around town. I really want to buy a trustworthy and reliable bike before moving to the Twin Cities where I will be biking pretty big distances every day.

19. Establish My Business
I think I've accomplished this through Etsy. It's slowly growing and that's good enough for me right now :] Check out my shop here.

20. Learn To Bartend
Not necessarily by going to bartending school, but just learn how to mix a few highball drinks that would be a hit at parties.

21. Donate to Charity
Every time at checkout when there is a "Do you want to donate a dollar to [said charity]" I always say yes. But that's not ambitious enough for me. I'm talking big bucks. I have many plans in my head :]

22. Get a Dog
This would require me to graduate from Miami but I see a big bundle of barking joy in my future!!!

23. Live in a Big City
After graduation Mike and I plan to move to a big city for a few years. Read about our city search here and here.

24. Learn to Cook WELL
Since living on my own, I've had to cook more and I'd like to think my cooking talent is getting better. I just need to work on liking to cook now.

That's it. My 24 things. I think it's totally do-able. If anyone else has a birthday goal list, link me in the comment section! I'd love to read about it!

Here's a quick peek of what I got Mike for Christmas. He finally convinced me to give him a present early last night. More pics to come but it's a SWEET Crosley Portable USB Turntable. His turntable was broken so his poor LPs sat on the shelf lonely for years. The first song he played was Lola. Such an amazing sound. Have a great day!
