regional dialect video

I first saw this regional dialect video on Kaelah's blog and then on Susannah Bean's. I don't really say that many words oddly and don't have a very noticeable accent but I decided to do the video anyway just for fun. I have heard people up north talk really fast compared to other regions in the U.S. and being in college with people from other states has only confirmed that. I've been told by many people that I talk way to fast to understand sometimes :] Making class presentations that have to be a certain length is always a challenge for me because I end up blowing through it 2 minutes under the mark. Whoops. Well without further adieu, here's my first video blog ever! [Mike agreed to do it with me so I didn't get all weird and shy] I think I sound weird on camera but I'll let you be the judge...

Well, you've finally heard how I sound. I do love being able to put a voice with a face on blogs. If anyone else decided to do this video send me a link! It's fun hearing how everyone talks.

  1. Ahh, this is too awesome! "...and I refuse to change my ways." Love it. I'm gonna give this a shot. I'm up in Alberta and to be honest, I have no clue if I have an accent or not. Thanks for posting! :)

  2. I love linguistics and learning about it. I'm gonna have to try this out. I'm from Philadelphia area and we absolutely have a distinctive dialect. The further away from t he city you get the less it is and where I moved to as a younger kid I was told I have an accent (and thats 40 min outside Philly!)

  3. gonna try this! where did you get the sheet for the dialect? ps- linked this to my blog <3

Thanks for stopping by! I'd love to know what you think!
