weekend photo dump...

I hope everyone enjoyed their four day weekend. I had a pretty laid back weekend filled with good friends and a GREAT movie. Take a look...

The roomies made up some daiquiris with my amazing Magic Bullet [best invention ever] and played this new game I bought called "In a Pickle". It is a hilarious game that, if I had 2 hours to type up and explanation, I would, but I don't so you'll just have to go out and get it yourself to see :]

Yay for roomies with DSLRs too! Colleen's new Canon that now means we can go out on photo shoots together!!

On MLK day, Mike and I were planning on going to see The Dilemma in Hamilton, which is about 15 minutes away when "The Funeral" by Band of Horses came on. It made me think about 127 Hours which I had yet to see because it's only in select theaters around Ohio. I popped up my MovieFone app and found out where it was playing and we spontaneously decided to head to downtown Cincinnati instead. If you haven't seen the trailer, click here. With BOH in the background, simply watching the trailer made me tear up.

This movie was incredible. Ten times better than what the trailer led you to believe. I was a mess by the time it was over and it's not an easy task to make me cry during movies. I just watched the trailer again in the process of posting that link and I really want to see it again. The infamous gory part which is known for causing people to get up and leave in the middle of the movie is pretty nasty. Everyone knows the story of Aron so I'm not worried about spoiling the movie with this one. I cannot handle bones breaking. It's just one of those things that makes me majorly queasy. So that part I didn't do so well with. The rest of the blood and gore wasn't very bad if you ask me. But I have a pretty strong stomach so I wouldn't recommend taking my word for it. If you're questioning whether you can handle it, check out IMDB here and read the parental guide. There's a pretty decent play by play of the scene and if you get sick reading it, I suggest you close your eyes during that part :] It's such a touching and uplifting story and to show how much will Aron had to live, they had to show what he went through. I strongly recommended everyone see it!

We grabbed sushi at a cute little Thai restaurant. We tried a new roll in honor of one of my Little Goals for 2011. It was called Basil-something roll lol. I wasn't a fan but Mike seemed to like it.

It was such a fun day. Afterwards we stopped by the sports store so I could try out a few bikes. I'm in the market for a nice city/cruiser bike so I can get around campus without having to worry about parking tickets. I was able to drive all around campus last semester because I had the perfect schedule, with perfect little breaks in between classes. Not this semester. It's a straight shot throughout the day from 8am to 6pm with no breaks longer than 15 minutes. So unless I want to pay Mother Miami lots of dough for parking illegally, a bike is my best option. I've had the lovely CB from The Citybird's Nest helping me find the perfect bike and later this week she might be dropping by for a guest post! Exciting! I think I've found a few possibilities for bikes but we shall see!

  1. I cant wait to see which bike you choose!

  2. I love sushi! But more importantly, I love In A Pickle! My fiance and I always bring it when we go camping since we seem to have endless amounts of time then.

  3. woohoo!!! great post. that sushi looks yummy!

  4. I've tried to play In-a-Pickle before, but it was super confusing! Maybe I need to try again sometime.

  5. Allison,
