[foodie challenge] ginger salad dressing

If you remember my post way back on my brother's birthday, you'll know that I'm obsessed with that Japanese steakhouse ginger salad dressing. It's sooooo good. Well I haven't found it in stores and I'm not really interested in going back to Sake to spend $50 on a meal just so I can walk out with a pint of their house dressing so we decided to make it ourselves. And I'm just going to tell you now, it was amazing and tasted exactly the same as the restaurant's.

Ingredients:
1 cup of minced onion
1 cup of peanut oil
2/3 cup of rice vinegar
4 Tablespoons of water
1 cup of minced fresh ginger
1/2 cup of minced celery
4 Tablespoons of Ketchup
8 teaspoons of soy sauce
4 teaspoons  of sugar
4 teaspoons of lemon juice
1 teaspoon of minced garlic
1 teaspoon of salt
1/2 teaspoon of ground pepper

Instructions:
1. Combine all the ingredients into a blender
2. Blend on high for 30 seconds until the ginger is pureed
3. Chill

It looks gross but I promise it's ah-mazing.

My mouth is watering just looking at the pictures again. I could eat this dressing every day of my life probably. I might need to make a batch up and put it into Tupperware for later. Yummmm.

  1. Oooh, I'll have to try this. I love that salad dressing! When I lived in NYC I found it in some random grocery, but I haven't found anything that tastes as good since.
