Bumpdate: 28 Weeks


Hellooooo third trimester!!! We are officially in the final stretch with this little nugget of ours and I couldn't be more excited for all the adventures to come! I've even noticed a change in the dogs recently, too. They follow me around like hawks and are more cuddly. Harvey will even push his way into the bathroom and lie right on the bath mat while I'm in the shower. I can't wait to introduce them to our little lady and add in a stroller to our walks :) 

How far along? 28 weeks. 

Total weight gain: Still sitting at about 20 pounds less than my starting weight. My OB agrees that I'm eating very healthy and I look great, so she's not pushing the weight gain anymore. I just have monthly ultrasounds to check kiddo's weight. So far she's measuring a little on the small side but I was a small baby and Mike wasn't overly huge either so that's to be expected. Plus I have yet to go through the big 3rd trimester growth spurt.

Maternity clothes? I've officially given up squeezing my bump into non-maternity pants. So I'm rocking mainly dresses, maxi skirts, and two pair of maternity jeans/shorts.

Stretch marks? Still nothing which is surprising. But with nugget sitting at 2lbs 4oz, I've got about 5 pounds to pack on (at least) in the next 10 weeks. So I'm sure they are around the corner, though I have been religiously lathering on belly butter. Fingers crossed that helps.

Sleep: I sleep great IF someone or something doesn't wake me up. Some women notice their sense of smell increase... well I was apparently gifted SUPER SONIC hearing. Seriously. I wear those squishy ear plugs but I can STILL hear Harvey across the room breathing heavy which drives me NUTS. It's the weirdest thing. But for the most part, I'm sleeping okay.

Gender: Still a girl lol. 

Best moment this "month": Mike feeling her kick for the first time, probably. I've also enjoyed having my energy back. We've gotten a lot done around the house, gone on walks and hikes with the doggos, and I've generally been feeling pretty great.

Food cravings/aversions? I've finally got my appetite back! I don't really have anything that I'm always craving. But I have noticed if I see commercials or pictures on social media of food, I seem to want that immediately lol. 
Missing anything? I wouldn't say I'm missing anything, but I do get frustrated being a bit limited physically. I get tired quickly and have to take breaks which I'm not used to (and I'm stubborn) so I guess you could say I kind of miss my body pre-pregnancy. But at the same time I'm loving every bit of this and wouldn't change it for the world. I can take it easy for a few months :)

Movement? Yep. She's not the most active baby in the world--no major jabs in the ribs or huge movements where you can see a foot from the outside. But she definitely moves around throughout the day and every night while I'm lying down getting ready for bed she has her own little party.

Workouts? I'm still on pause with weight training but I've started going on long walks and hiking again. 

Looking forward to: Probably my baby showers. I can't wait to celebrate with friends and family!
